Once again playing in the new venue at EPSV the Phoenix girls entertained the NBC USA girls team tonight, after a bright start going up 6-2 the girls got in to a free throw battle with the game being tied at eight each, then a last minute 3pointer saw the Phoenix 11-8 down after the first, an 8-1 run by NBC saw them open up a 10 point lead, Phoenix rallied to cut it to six, then baskets were going in at both ends as the quarter closed with NBC leading 27-20 at the half, the girls came out strong in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead to four, but then NBC came storming back and closed the quarter on a 13-4 run to put them up by 13 with the last quarter giving the Phoenix a lot to do, as hard as they tried they could not get the stops on defence and NBC kept a double digit lead throughout to close the game out 59-42 and deservedly win the game, the girls found it harder to score tonight with E.Middleton being the only player in double figures with 10 points, B.Taylor had 7, then L.Parsons, H.Parsons & C.Hawley had 6 points each.

July 9th, 2015

Sunday 5th July saw Cheshire Phoenix girls entertain the Canadian NBC girls team, the girls got off to a quick start as the NBC team couldn't hit the basket and raced into a 15-4 lead, as the visitors found their range the game evened out with the teams trading basket for basket, but the Phoenix kept their 11 point lead going in at half time, with only a small rotation to pick from due to a couple of players unavailable Phoenix were finding it hard to cope with the pace of the game as the visitors kept going five off five on and they had fifteen players, the girls weathered the storm and got their second wind and pushed the lead out to 23 points, Coach Thomas was able to relax a bit more and the girls seemed to play a more controlled game, they closed out the game eventual winners 95-63, notable scorers were B.Taylor 18, L.Hinchliffe 18, H.Parsons 13, E.Middleton 11, J.Metcalf 9 & L.Parsons 7 the other players worked hard throughout doing things not recorded on the scoresheet and deserve a mention B.Downey, S.Wilson & L.Farkas



July 4th-July 10th we have two NBC Camps teams visiting. The Schedule is as follows:

Saturday July 4th: 12-4:00pm- U18 Boys vs. Canada at EPSV*

Sunday July 5th: 12-3:00pm- U18 Girls vs. Canada at EPSV

Thursday July 9th: 7-9:00pm - U18 Girls vs. USA at EPSV

Friday July 10th: 6-10:00pm - U18 Boys vs. USA at Stanney Oaks

 *EPSV is the Ellesmere Port Sports Village
